INTERNAL COMBUSTION

An internal combustion engine (ICE or IC engine) is a heat engine where fuel combustion, typically with air, occurs in a combustion chamber integral to the working fluid flow circuit. The high-temperature and high-pressure gases produced by combustion exert force on engine components, such as pistons, turbine blades, a rotor, or a nozzle. This force transforms chemical energy into kinetic energy, powering the attached device or vehicle.
