The Hydraulics Laboratory is equipped for research in pipe-flow, open channel flow, sediment transport, and wave mechanics. Research areas include cross-shore sediment transport, wave forces on coastal structures, nearshore hydrodynamics, tsunami impact, pollutant mixing, pipeline stability, liquefaction, wave runup, and ocean wave energy systems.
