STATICS AND VIBRATIONS

Statics is the most fundamental course in Mechanics focusing on the conditions under which an object or a structure subjected to time-invariant (static) forces is in equilibrium – i.e. the conditions under which it remains stationary or moves with a constant velocity. Statics is used in the analysis of structures, for instance in architectural and structural engineering. Strength of materials is a related field of mechanics that relies heavily on the application of static equilibrium.
